Blanchon Government to provide tap water to every street in La Pierre

Governor of La Pierre, Etienne Blanchon has announced that the state government will provide tap water to every street and avenue across the state in the coming weeks.

In a press conference on Friday, Blanchon reiterated his government's priority in wiping corruption from the government and providing free access to the basic needs of life for all residents of the state. in pushing this forward, he announced that his government has brought up an initiative to provide 24-hour running tap water for every street within the state. This includes streets, roads, highways and avenues.

"Water is a free gift of God to man" Blanchon said on Friday, "the Fourth Amendment recognises that. Therefore, reiterating my promise to you to provide all residents of this state with free basic amenities, I am happy to announce that the time to buy water from street shops is nearly over. We, your government, will continue to fight to ensure that everyone gets free access to these basic needs and wipe out the corruption you have just witnessed."

Blanchon is currently contesting to retain the seat he took over from Joél Noël who was impeached by the La Pierre Parliament in 2022. The former governor, Noël, was impeached by the State Assembly in 2021 and removed from office by the La Pierre Senate in January 2022. He was found guilty of four bribery and corruption by the La Pierre's Court of Administrative Justice and received a 12-year prison sentence, of which two were suspended.

"My job has become very difficult - I have to bring back the trust of the people in their government and this I pledge with all my heart. Pierres will see a transparent government" Blanchon said in a speech at the Republican State Convention last month.
